Shahrazi-Part 1

Due to the depth of the person I am interviewing, I decided to cut this interview up into two parts. Part 2 will be out in a few days.

The mult-faceted and talented artist Shahrazi speaks about her music(“somewhere between the earth and the stars”), her organizing Borderless(borderlessarts.ca) and her past experiences, such as being lead singer for Television Rd.. She is set to play at Gordon Best on October 29th(see bestptbo.com) with Effigy Girl(https://soundcloud.com/user-986993095), mouthfeel(https://www.instagram.com/p/CfFv83Vvm3W/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=embed_video_watch_again) and more. Besdies being an original artist, who is transformative in an Alice Coltrane-like manner as I mention, she is also a top poet, skilled dancer and knows more than a few instruments. We discuss the song “Hidden Histories” and the obstacles to that being becoming fully released. It’s a gem of a song! I hope you find the beauty in her music and persona like I do. Music selections from Part One include: “Opium Lids”(w/Yumna)(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPVhQtDJ2m8), “(Sub)merged in Love”(https://shahrazi.bandcamp.com/track/sub-merged-in-love), “Hivemind” by Television Rd.( https://televisionrd.bandcamp.com/track/hivemind-3) and “Hidden Histories”(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW9jrMGPmCM)
