The Governor-General nominated author, multi-faceted and talented artist Kate Story joined me for a chat. She discusses her G-G nomiated book “Urchin”, the fascination she has with radio, the Southside Road, her connection with the main character, a young adolescent named Dorthea, Signal Hill and a reading for our audience! Woo-hoo! There is also her upcoming solo performance show at Theatre on King titled “Anxiety.” We also discuss ghosts and superstitions, Newfoundland literature, Joey Smallwood, the beauty of Theatre on King, the comparison between shame and anxiety and the sad coop of “Beowulf” by the far right, There was also her experience being part of the hate-fest exhibit in Peterborough done earlier this year to Jagmeet Singh. Her father, George Story, was creditied with the Dictonary of Newfoundland English. Among being a writer, director, actor, she also has to be praised for her work in dance.
